Imagine the situation: You have a crazy busy life. You’ve got a job, school, and a social life. You really love to watch TV, but you can’t remember when your favorite TV shows come on. You do_not_ have a DVR you can easily program. What do you do? Well, you’re pretty much screwed; or so you think. Introducing TV Show Favs, an application dedicated to delivering you your favorite TV show schedules. How does this application settle with me? What can you expect from it? Let’s find out!
So, i’ve been using this application for about a week. Though I’ve only built up a small collection of shows, it’s very handy. There are two ways to get notifications: Through the application itself, and to set a reminder in Google Calendar. I use a combination of both. If it’s an important show, I use Google Calendar. That way, I can set multiple reminders. I also check my calendar frequently, so it helps me remember. If it is something I look forward to, but do not mind missing, I stick with the built in notification system. It reminds you once at a set time before (and after) the show.
The GUI is pretty simple. Four icons and a drawer. My favs shows all the shows that you have favorited. The Schedule shows all the upcoming and current episodes of favorited shows. To Do shows your progress in the series. Marking shows as watched is important and all the data is displayed here. Top favs shows the top television shows based on its users.
Overall, this application is pretty freakin’ awesome. It does what it promises, and does it well. It’s fast and user friendly; and provides a large amount of television shows. I’m going to give it a glorious 5/5.
