Microsoft has announced a VIP preview of the next major release of Windows Phone, codenamed “Mango,” on May 24, 2011. The event, which will be held in New York, will finally reveal many of the features and improvements that Mango contains.
Microsoft announced many developer-centric improvements at MIX, but the fun consumer-centric features are still wrapped in secrecy. There have been a few leaks, but nothing official as of yet.
According to Mary Jo Foley, Microsoft will also announce the availability of the Mango developer tools at the event. Hopefully, Microsoft will also nail down the Mango release date. We’ll bring you the news as it happens.
